We finally turned this dream into reality by making it happen! We are happy and highly blessed to announce that we created a Scholarship Program! This program is starting off with awarding a micro-scholarship of $500! This scholarship will be given to a student who is passionate in making a positive impact(s) in their community & beyond. Below are our requirements, eligibility info, scholarship road map, and award details!

Scholarship Application: 

 


The M.e.l.a.n.i.n by Ayishat.Y 2023-2024 Scholarship Application is now closed. The 2025-2026 scholarship will open Fall 2025! 

 

ELIGIBILITY: 

  • African/Black African American

  • Must be a 2026 high school graduate.

  • Resident in the U.S.

  • Planning on attending a 2-year community college or 4-year college/university.

  • A GPA of 3.0 or above is required for application; however, if your GPA is slightly lower, you are still welcome to apply!

  • Embodies leadership and commitment to community service! 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Essay: 350-800 word essay based off of one of the three essay prompts listed on the application.
  • Answer all shorts answer questions.
  • Information regarding educational background.
  • Unofficial transcript.

2023-2024 SCHOLARSHIP ROAD MAP:

Award Details:

 

The successful applicant will be awarded the $500 scholarship, which can be utilized towards their future college/university or community college education, along with a copy of "The M.e.l.a.n.i.n Guide". Additionally, the two semi-finalists will receive a $50 Visa Gift Card along with a copy of "The M.e.l.a.n.i.n Guide"! 

Additionally, we are pleased to offer everyone who applies a comprehensive list of advice regarding scholarships, valuable academic advice, and essential guidance on navigating the transition to college as an incoming student. We want to ensure that every applicant receives the support they need to succeed, and we are delighted to provide these resources to you.

Side Note: The resources promised to be given by us will be made available a month (or a few weeks) after the scholarship decision. So, please be patient!
